The Beautiful Meme: Day Four

Back into the swing of the Meme studio, and I was back to work on the According to McGee stuff. I should be working on a design for the website next week so this week I was given the task of researching into e-commerce websites that worked, or at least looked appropriate. I put together a PDF of screen shots of websites and some details about usability, positives, and negatives of the layout in general.

In the afternoon I was back on making amendments to the leaflet that I had finished the previous. Frustratingly for us the client didn't have the budget to print this one-off leaflet with the metallic gold ink and I had presented. So this would have to be changed to a process ink and printed digitally. This has made me think more about budget overall, and it's importance when selecting inks, because the colour just won't have the same impact as it would as a spot colour.

I also had some time to look at some paper stock samples and specialist finishes the studio had collected over the years. I learned that GF Smith love foil blocking their promotional material more than anyone.
