This is the portfolio I will be handing in on disc. I have a landscape and portrait version of this.

PPD nearly complete

Posted: Thursday, 2 June 2011 | Posted by Adam Townend | Labels: , 0 comments

Here is the final folder I will be submitting for the PPD as a creative CV. It will house the business card (I've got two designs) The portfolio brochure which is to be printed and a double sided CV.

PPD Folder

This is my template for the PPD folder. I have kept this clean and minimal to keep the continuity of my branding design. It would be a whole lot better to actually get this printed professionally on the same stock as my business card, with a spot varnish on the logo but the non-existent budget means I am tied to print these digitally.

CV postcard

I haven't been able to do the development I wanted to do on this. I need to use the same fonts, and I also wanted to have a list of skills that were succinct and clear to understand. I didn't want to make a big thing of the CV, and this is the most logical way of laying out the information. I know that this still seems formal but I believe it reflects my approach and fits in with the context of the product. It is A6 in scale and is double sided.

I have left information that I deemed unimportant. Instead, I will also have a more formal CV that will outline the detail if necessary. This will have the same font and approach, as the 'creative' CV.

Website Updated

Posted: Monday, 30 May 2011 | Posted by Adam Townend | Labels: , 0 comments

During this weekend I decided to update my website. Not only its content but the way it looks and how it is navigated. I felt the previous layout had too much going on in it. It had a lot of different sections, so I simplified it to just have 'work' for my work, and separate sections for news and bio sections.

I decided on using this horizontal scrolling as it looks currently on trend with other agencies such as Music. The menu remains static when scrolling and the content floats beneath the menu.

Nothing too fancy, just carrying the design direction along from the business cards to the other stationery. Check it

Creative CV idea mock ups

Posted: Thursday, 26 May 2011 | Posted by Adam Townend | Labels: , 0 comments

These are the very quick mock ups I made to illustrate my idea for the creative cv.

The portfolio folder is not to scale, as it's bigger than A3 size

Mini portfolio brochure

Posted: | Posted by Adam Townend | Labels: , 0 comments

This is a test of my A5 brochure. The content will change as will the type. I just wanted to get a feel as to how the brochure might look. I have kept the same the style to the front cover. It works better as a set in this way.

Net for PPD folder

Posted: | Posted by Adam Townend | Labels: , 0 comments

I quickly digitally sketched this net for my PPD folder. I envisage this being solid black with the a simple logo and contact details on the front and back. These will hopefully be cheap and easy to produce. I felt this would a good edition as a leave behind when I have portfolio reviews and interviews. I will produce this as a solution to my creative CV but it will also house a business card and brochure.

Contacting studios again

Posted: Tuesday, 15 February 2011 | Posted by Adam Townend | Labels: , 0 comments

I have contacted a few more studios today in the hope of securing studio visits over reading week. It's annoying when you get caught up amongst the influx of people contacting them but I need to get myself noticed some how. I'll pester them again at the end of the week.

New portfolio print

ready for print, new projects in and old stuff out. This will be the first things to go in my wooden portfolio and see how it works.

Print Portfolio Case

Posted: Monday, 13 September 2010 | Posted by Adam Townend | Labels: , 1 comments

I wanted something a little different and memorable as a portfolio case ever since I saw some of the lecturing professionals last year. I have had a black leather case for about 6 years and it's ugly and annoying. I decided to craft something that looked like I cared about my work.

I made this wooden portfolio which isn't finished as yet, but will be practical and easy to look through once I am done. The sleeve comes off and the small section will have bolts through which will create a bind and the portfolio will be presented as a publication.

I screen printed the front and back with my logo and details.

Reshooting the portfolio

Posted: Tuesday, 31 August 2010 | Posted by Adam Townend | Labels: , 0 comments

I decided to make my images for my portfolio look a little more uniform by reshooting the main things I have done over the past two years. This will make my portfolio website a lot more professional and will be enable me to print my portfolio without the fear of all my images looking different.

Portfoliozines

Posted: Wednesday, 4 August 2010 | Posted by Adam Townend | Labels: , , , 1 comments

These are both the portfoliozines I have created in full. I decided to upload them to issuu and post them here. I plan to make a third edition during the coming year. That will have a much more focus direction and hopefully feature more industry work.

Comments are welcome as always..

Magazine Spreads

Posted: | Posted by Adam Townend | Labels: , , , 0 comments

I wanted to get back into type and layout to satisfy my own ends with a view to a placement at the Leeds Guide. I didn't want to send them the portfolio I have sent others, I wanted to create a pdf of publication work in the hope that it will catch the eye a little better.

I heard some good advice that I should redesign spreads I have read to see if I could make them better or just any different. With that I have also added some of the spreads I have done over the past two years.
