Here a few examples of swiss graphic design that I found online. I will give details of designers and my analysis of the work later. For now I am collecting the resources I need to move forward.
Most of the examples I found were designed by Josef Muller Brockmann, who is fast becoming a favourite designer of mine. As I discussed earlier in my research, Brokmann's work could fit straight into todays society as it appears so timeless.
I recently took out 'Altitude - Contemporary Swiss Graphic Design' It gave me an insight into todays Swiss design but wasn't exactly what I expected. What's clear to me is that the Swiss have moved on from tight gridlines and accuracy and moved more towards introducing lots of colour, illustrative techniques and a multitude of typefaces. This example I picked out designed by Barbara Hahn and Christine Zimmermann. I like the way it folds and the use of duplex printing. The really narrow margins on the one side means that a lot of copy and leaves the opposite side to display a small ammount of info in a visual appealing way. This could easily be folded into a mailable document.
