On the back of my portfolio review with Stuart I have emailed Stuart to ask for a possible studio visit, in the quest to build up contacts and to get my portfolio seen by perhaps someone else at the agency. This will give me much needed advice as well as the opportunity to ask for a placement.

Update: Stuart got back to me pretty quickly to say they didn't have a studio as such. Stuart said I could visit their design school if I wish. I took the opportunity to ask about how to get noticed and secure a job.
He replied
Hi Adam.
It’s a funny situation, as soon as designers get Creative Director
on their business cards they suddenly start behaving like heads
of state...
We can remember what it was like starting out which is why we
always respond not just to students...to anyone that wants to
speak to us.
In answer to your question. Find out where you really want to
work and keep pestering them to see you...nothing is going to
come to you.
Also, don’t think to get on you need someone to give you a job.
Think creatively. Don’t take a job, make a job.
This is a great time to start your own thing as people as
willing to consider new ways of doing things.
(Start a studio in the college...go and speak to Paul Wilson about it.)
I’m just popping out but I’m happy to talk about this a bit
more if you like?
Thanks
Stuart
