Sign up surgery with John

I signed up for a chat with John this morning to get some feedback on my blog and in particular my portfolio for PPD. He gave me a real confidence boost by really taking an interest in the work I've done and how my blog allows me to express myself.

How noticed how much I use my design practice and context blogs and was really pleased with my work ethic. I do try to update my blogs as often as possible. Sometimes that can be daily, and other times hourly.

He felt my portfolio was strong and asked me about the type of agencies I wanted to contact. I had a good idea about who I wanted to target but the contacts were different from each other in the design they do.

John suggested that I make my creative CV more like an american stylised press-ad. I have to agree, as at the moment the language suits but the layout is still a little bland. I shall try to develop it as soon as I find time. In the mean time I have set myself the target of creating a website and new logo during easter when I find the time.

Overall it was a really productive session.
