I thought I would keep a blog update about my time at The Beautiful Meme (formally known as Stone Soup) as it will all count towards my PPD investigation and potentially throw up content for my presentation after Easter.
So far, I did what was to be expected for a first day in a new environment. Its safe to say I'm outside my comfort zone, and it's difficult to think when you put pressure on yourself to impress the people around you. Safe to say the morning went slow as I had no idea how to tackle the advertising brief I had been given to look at. It was a confidence sapping experience even though I had little experience of advertising just because I wanted to come up with some ideas that could have been developed. In the end I made little contribution to the development of that brief.
The next thing amongst odd jobs involving research was to juggle the content of a business card for the York based art gallery 'According to Magee'. This was much more up my street, and I found a way of stripping down the information to read more informally which is what Ben wanted the card to be.
The first day wasn't the best experience personally in terms of getting things done or even contributing to the teams efforts but it was only the first day. I'll hope for better next time.
